Tokyo Akichi Project I  -  東京アキチ・プロジェクト I (2021)

Akichi (japanese): vacant land; unoccupied ground; empty lot.

By preparing installations inspired by real constructions sites, including materials like the classic blue tarp or the image resembling metal pipe structures, in Tokyo Akichi Project I, Mirai Totoki produces an architectural drawing made entirely with masking tape. This work looks upon temporal and changing spaces often seen in everyday life in Tokyo, becoming part of the city and human experience.
